A personal approach, led by lived experience

At Co Production & Me, we believe relationships matter.

Rather than a large consultancy with layers of management, we work in a more personal, flexible way. So you always know exactly who you’re working with, and why they care about the work as much as you do.

While we collaborate with trusted partners and organisations on specific projects, the heart of Co Production & Me is one person: me, bringing together professional expertise, lived experience and a deep commitment to improving systems of care.

Matthew Riley

Strategic Consultant (Trauma-Senstive, Neuro-Inclsuive Living Experience Consultant)

I’m Matthew, founder of Co Production & Me.

I bring together over 10 years of experience supporting NHS and health & social care systems with more than 22 years of lived experience navigating mental health services as a patient, advocate and neurodivergent person.

My work sits at the intersection of:

  • Co‑production and meaningful involvement
  • Trauma‑informed and neuroinclusive practice
  • Personalised care and personal health budgets
  • Quality improvement and service redesign

Before this, I worked in insurance and banking, which gave me a strong grounding in systems, governance, risk and accountability. I now apply those skills to health and social care with a human, compassionate lens.

What drives me is simple: helping services work better with people, not just for them.

I’ve seen first‑hand what happens when systems exclude, overwhelm or unintentionally harm people and I’ve also seen how powerful things become when people are genuinely listened to, supported and involved in shaping their own care and the services around them.

That perspective shapes everything I do.

How Co Production & Me works with organisations

I work directly with NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems, Local Authorities and VCSE partners to:

  • Co‑produce reviews and pathway improvements that reduce unnecessary distress and LoS
  • Design and embed trauma‑informed, neuroinclusive tools and training that staff can actually use
  • Support strategy and transformation work with lived experience insight and practical evidence‑building

Typical ways we start:

  • A short exploratory call to understand your priorities and pressure points
  • A scoping conversation to agree a small pilot, review or toolkit.
  • A tailored project or ongoing support, shaped by your governance, timelines and budget
